This superhero is bringing the competition
Holland Bloorview is a special place for Foundation Board of Directors member Manny Pressman, which is why he’s long been a proud supporter of Capes for Kids.
As a father of a Holland Bloorview client and National Co-chair of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, Manny raised over $30,000 for Capes for Kids in 2023.
Manny shares why he’s supporting the hospital on behalf of Osler as a Capes for Kids superhero this year.
What’s your personal connection to Holland Bloorview?
My family was a client. My son was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at age 4 by developmental pediatricians. Our children received occupational and physical therapy, went to Spiral Garden Summer Camp, and swam in the Swim School at Elkie Adler Pool
Why do you participate in Capes for Kids?
I love seeing the kids get so excited and competitive. They support teams and track all the fundraising. It brings out their inner capitalists and fosters real community and energy.
What’s your favourite Capes for Kids/Holland Bloorview memory?
Raising more money than Goldman Sachs (if only for a moment). And encouraging others to be competitive and compassionate.
Why do you choose to support kids and youth with disabilities?
These kids are so special and so awesome. They teach valuable life lessons through their positivity, resilience, and love. Their whole families need critical support and access to life-changing resources. HB is a caring community and for so many a way out of a sense of isolation.
